WC - Rig Steamer

We developed this tool to steam the shrink tube and stiff coated hooklink of the WK rig in one go without burning your fingers.

The rig length is measured from the hook point. I personally always fish with an average of 18cm WK rigs for hookbaits from 15 to 20mm. I only use shorter rigs on very small, pressured waters and in the middle of winter. I only use longer rigs on rivers and when fishing with baits from 25mm.

The hooks are spring-loaded, so any play of up to 2cm in rig length is absorbed. The stop is located on the hook eye. This means the hook point floats in the air and does not touch the rig steamer.

It is very easy to make the rigs the correct length. See the photos for clarification. The shot on the hook sits exactly against the stop in the correct position.

Shrink tubing on your hook has many advantages. The most important, of course, is the best hook hold. The bend in the shrink tubing ensures that the hook is guided as much as possible for the best hook hold: behind the hard edge of the lower lip. In addition, the shrink tubing protects the corners of the mouth during the fight.
