8mm Foam

6 pieces of 25mm. Maggot clips are ideal for attaching maggots to the foam, but your foam must be large enough to hide the maggot clip. We have 8mm wide foam that is perfect for this! I cut these into three equal pieces as perfect hookbaits.

The reason we choose foam is because it has no smell or taste. In many underwater images, we see that carp in winter pick up your hookbait more out of curiosity than to actually eat. Due to the carp's receptors, with which they can perceive food stimuli, they often leave strongly flavored hookbaits untouched, especially in pressured waters. Carp have no hands, so if they want to test something, they have to take it in their mouths, and then they're hooked!

Red, black, and pink are the 3 colors I always catch on. All underwater footage shows that warm colors are picked up fastest by carp and thus yield the most bites!

You can attach the maggots to the foam by attaching a maggot clip to the hair. Tying knots is not necessary because burning a blob is enough. Or you can tie floss to the hair and string the maggots onto it. Our maggot needle is useful for this because it has an open eye.
